Episode notes

“We’re enabling a city region of tinkerers”

Dr Marilyn Comrie OBE is a green tech entrepreneur who is passionate about creating opportunities for young people to thrive.  She’s also a leader for diversity and inclusion in the city.

As you’ll hear Marilyn believes in following the “golden thread” of life.  She’s followed a flow of life which has taken her all over the world and changed her path on several occasions.

Marilyn and her two sons Nile and Blair overcame many hurdles whilst setting up their joint venture “The Blair Project”.  You’ll also hear how their commitment to never leaving the game early landed them with £10,000 in their account just at the right time.  They went on to build an inspiring business, turn over half a million and create the next generation of engineers and leaders.

Your host, Lisa Morton, started PR company Roland Dransfield in 1996, one month after the fateful IRA bomb that tore apart the city centre.  From that point, the business, and its team members, have been involved in helping to support the creation of Modern Manchester – across regeneration, business, charity, leisure and hospitality, sport and culture.

To celebrate the 25 years that Roland Dransfield has spent creating these bonds, Lisa is gathering together some of her Greater Mancunian ‘family’ and will be exploring how they have created their own purposeful relationships with the best place in the world.
